Beyond the Blue Horizon

May your spirit be free to fly

Into this earth and beyond its boundries

Leaving convention and constraints

The Band

My 15 year old grandson, Alex, who happens to be an excellent drummer, has a band that does gigs locally and away. He sports an impressive nine inch Mohawk that he keeps standing tall with hair spray and white glue. In the interest of having a little fun with him for Christmas, I did the above picture as a gift. His grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins are now all "members of the band" and looking very hip! Alex is the one sitting in the black shirt. And a one, and a two...

Peaceful Christmas

Christmas is drawing near and I thought it time to start with a few holiday posts. I moved to Vermont almost 30 years ago after just a few visits, lured by the peace and beauty it offered. Living in overcrowded suburbia, not ever far from the city, had taken its tole on my heart, soul and mind. Through My Eyes

What visions gather through my eyes

Moonlit nights, starry skies

Sun washed days, the kiss of light

Stark branches dark on winter white

***

Through my eyes a crimson dawn

Burns in my mind to linger on

In my memory splendor lies

Mine forever, through my eyes

Joy

Oh freedom, take me without care

My body soaring through the air

***

For longing feet perhaps the chance

To revel in the joy of dance

Power

Power always thinks it has a great soul and vast views beyond the comprehension
of the weak, and that it is doing God's service when it is violating all His laws.
